Can you please describe the organization of your group – what branches of dentistry do you focus on? What is the history of EMS? How do you see it evolving?
The future is by definition unpredictable. What is clear, though, is that the brands, distributors, and practices that will win, will be the ones that have already started to adopt prevention, minimally invasive treatments, and digital workflow.
The Swiss Dental Academy could also be called the GBT Academy, as it’s the way to bring the state-of-the-art and evidence based GBT protocol as a standard of care in clinical practice. This clearly requires knowledge and training, the latter being a key factor for successful implementation.
How do you see the future of dentistry changing in the next 5 years?

First, one can notice that patients are now more aware of the importance of dental prevention in general and that their expectations in terms of treatment comfort is growing by the day. Benjamin Franklin’s quote “No Pain – No Gain” is clearly an outdated vision. As a matter of fact, clinicians are now looking for minimally invasive solutions with the highest level of comfort. What is currently happening with GBT is comparable to what recently happened with invisible aligners: easier and quicker treatments, absolute comfort, and predicable clinical outcomes. Practices providing such high standard treatments increase their profit and patient satisfaction. They clearly position themselves as game changers… and it works.
Tooth decay, periodontal critical cases, and peri-implantitis are not a fatality, NO PAIN GBT maintenance brings patients into the positive circle of prevention with high recall rates. Patients getting comfortable treatments with a regular homecare oral hygiene education and motivation will progressively change their habits. What is likely to happen?
