Can we use the power
of the most precise watches
to reinvent oral care?

A man knew we could.

In a valley with neighbors like Jaeger-LeCoultre, Breguet, Audemars Piguet, and Blancpain, extraordinary things are possible. The Vallée de Joux, located north of Geneva at an altitude of over a thousand meters in the heart of the canton of Vaud, is a valley of perfectionists, inventors, and innovators. Here, in this valley where precision comes first, EMS Electro Medical Systems was founded. As a pioneer in dentistry, Pierre Mabille, one of the founders of EMS, developed the PIEZON® and AIRFLOW® technologies, opening a new chapter in oral prophylaxis. These game-changing technologies were born from the combined expertise of the Vallée de Joux, a collaboration with Jaeger-LeCoultre as its first supplier, and an infinite passion for changing oral prevention. Precision and quality have always been part of EMS’s DNA. Today, EMS is the global leader in oral prophylaxis, employing over 900 people. Original EMS products stand for the highest quality, exceptional durability, and long-term oral health – Swiss-made. Quality says “Grüezi” – Hello in Swiss.

EXCELLENCE AS HERITAGE

True Swiss Precision

The Vallée de Joux is home to the workshops that produce the most exclusive watches money can buy. When it comes to precision and much more, this is where NASA and Airbus come shopping.

It is the home of manufacturers whose incomparable skills set a general standard for all things micromechanical – with two hundred years of experience behind them. This is where EMS was born, and where we do our thinking, developing and manufacturing never wavering from our one single goal: absolute perfection.

EXCELLENCE AS HERITAGE

EMS goes green

The leap from Swiss watchmaking to dental care may seem surprising, but it was driven by the same dedication to precision. Pierre Mabile was indeed inspired by the piezoelectric principle used in quartz watches to create a revolutionary method for removing tartar. By harnessing perfectly controlled, straight-line oscillations, this new tool could clean teeth gently and effectively, without causing damage or discomfort
